Expedia Promo Codes: Understanding One Key Before You Hunt for a Coupon

No reliable generic code — the real discount comes from One Key points and flight+hotel packages.

The promo codes listed below come from public sources (brands' official sites, social media accounts, reader reports). They can expire or stop working at any time without notice. Always check the code at checkout before confirming your order.

Expedia changed how it rewards customers with the launch of the One Key program, which now pools loyalty points across Expedia, Hotels.com, and Vrbo under a single account. In practice, that means points earned on a hotel booked through Hotels.com can now go toward paying for a flight or a vacation rental booked through Expedia — which wasn't the case before.

How One Key points work

Every booking (hotel, flight-plus-hotel package, car rental, activity) earns what's called "OneKeyCash," usable directly as a discount on a future booking once you hit a minimum balance. That amount shows up automatically at checkout if you're signed into your account — again, no code to hunt for elsewhere.

The real extra discounts

  • Flight + hotel packages: booking a flight and a hotel together on Expedia almost always triggers an automatic discount compared to booking the two separately — compare both before choosing.
  • Member rates: some properties show a discounted rate that's only visible when you're signed into your One Key account, similar to how Booking.com's Genius program works.
  • One-off promo codes: Expedia sometimes sends codes by email after a booking, valid on a future trip, with a specific expiry date worth checking before you file it away for later.

How to apply an Expedia code

  1. Add your booking to the cart.
  2. At the payment step, look for the "Promo code" or "Coupon" field, usually below the price summary.
  3. Enter the code and confirm the total drops before continuing.
  4. If you're using OneKeyCash, check that its own checkbox is ticked separately from the code field.

Why your Expedia code isn't applying

  • The code applies to a different booking type (hotel-only vs. a flight + hotel package).
  • You're not signed into your One Key account at checkout.
  • The code has passed its expiry date or was tied to a marketing campaign that's already ended.
  • The selected property or flight explicitly excludes promotional discounts (often noted in fine print on the rate details).

Frequently asked questions

Why isn't my promo code applying?+

The most common reasons: the cart's minimum spend isn't met, an excluded product category, a code restricted to new customers, or a code that's simply expired. Every article above details that store's specific exclusions.

Is a promo code found on a third-party site trustworthy?+

It depends entirely on the source and the date. Always prefer codes sent directly by the brand (email, app, official social media) over one copied with no date from an unknown site — see our scam-proof guide for the full method.

Is the code shown here still valid today?+

We show a last-verified date on every article, but brands can pull an offer at any time without telling us. If a code has expired, let us know via the Contact page — we update the article quickly.
